End of Year Letter & Essential Information for September

Dear Parent / Carer
As we draw to the end of the term, I would like to say thank you to all parents and carers for their support during this academic year.
As you will already be aware, I shall be retiring at the end of this year after 28 years’ service in Redcar and Cleveland. I have spent 18 of those years at Bydales and enjoyed all the wonderful experiences working with children and young people over the years. I would also like to say thank you to all staff, past and present, who have supported me throughout my time at Bydales.
Sadly this week, we are saying goodbye to a number of staff from across the academy. From Humanities, Mrs Hughes and Mrs Jerrison; from Design and Technology, Mrs Brown and Miss Hitchin; from English, Mr M. Thomas, and from Maths, Mr Engel and Mrs Lofts. We also say goodbye to Mr Coward and Mr S. Thomas who have provided support across the school.
I would like to say thank you to all the above staff for their support of the children at Bydales and wish them all the very best in their next endeavours.
Looking forward to September we are welcoming the new Principal, Mr McGreal. I have had the pleasure of working closely with Mr McGreal over the past few months and know that the academy will be in very good hands as it begins its next journey.
To ensure the best start for all students in September, please read the Essential Information for Students document enclosed with this letter. This information can also be found on our website. Year 7 and 11 students return to school on Wednesday 6 September at 8.20 am and Years 8, 9 and 10 students return on Thursday 7 September.
